Repurposing Wireless Networks for Imaging

Experimental Testbeds

We aim to develop high-performance experimental platforms that are flexible and can support both wireless communication and imaging across multiple mmWave 5G bands. We are constructing two experimental platforms with the first using off-the-shelf components and the second using a custom silicon-based design. Additionally, we have developed a new broadband low-noise amplifier (LNA) design methodology that can cover all the mmWave 5G bands simultaneously [J1]. We have also developed a new hybrid beamforming transmitter architecture that can support spatial notch steering in addition to desired signal beamforming, which is critical for suppressing interference and enabling multi-user wireless communication and imaging [C5].
